Common topics include her first car, which was a 60's beetle, and her favourite cars.

Apparently for her, something over 200 HP is too fast, yet she often forgets how much power her Odyssey puts out. After reminding her time and time again, that it puts out roughly 250, she freaks out.

I showed her the new NSX today, and she loved it. I also mentioned that Ayrton Senna helped develop the previous model, and she said, "Wow, I want one, but it's too fast."

I like talking cars with my mom too. She was the oldest of seven and talked about how her parents would drive all the kids around on the back of a flatbed pickup. She told me about how she hates power windows and locks because her dad would buy old Cadillacs and everything on them was broken.

We talk about how much she loved being an admiral's driver in the Navy even though she only got her license a few weeks before enlisting. She said they taught her to drive by blindfolding her and driving her to the middle of nowhere and leaving her to find her way back. She wrecked a lot of cars and said they just kept fixing them. She said her favorite part about driving for officers who outranked her was when you got pulled over for speeding the highest ranked officer in the vehicle got the ticket because you were driving however they ordered you too. She drove for some cool people too including the blue angels and said they were a bunch of perverts.

While she was stationed in Hawaii she said her boyfriend had a cobra and he refused to let her drive it but she had an rx7 and she refused to let him drive it. She prefers to drive a manual because she says it keeps her more engaged in driving.

She doesn't own a car anymore and rides a bike everywhere but she used to valet and talked about driving Bentleys and Lamborghinis. I try to convince her to get a motorcycle so she can at least get away from the drunk drivers who try to run her over (she's been hit twice) but she won't get one.

Your mother has a more colourful automotive history than mine, wow.

my mom always talked about her father's Charger as well, and how fast it was, and how he raced it.
